Perpignan lies at the centre of one of the most beautiful regions on earth, and is the ideal place to enjoy a holiday no matter what your interests are. Perpignan lies on the Mediterranean coast of France, facing the rising sun. It is backed by the slowly rising Pyrenees through Roussillon, and located in the gently rolling countryside of the southern Languedoc.
Perpignan itself has a variety of attractions including some stunning buildings to enjoy. Particularly notable are the "Palais des Rois de Majorque", the Castillet, the "Loge de Mer" and the Campo Santo, all of which buildings demonstrate the huge influence of Spain upon this French city. Indeed the local culture leans toward that of Catalan Spain, and you can easily imagine that you are in Spain while exploring the city.
With more than ten centuries of history displayed in and around the streets of Perpignan, it is easy to lose yourself in the past, but the modern world is not completely shunned in Perpignan, and there are many nightclubs and shopping malls where you can get in touch with your passions for pleasure.
During the day, the atmosphere is conducive to lazing by a pool or on one of the many beaches nearby, and you can relax and sunbathe in many places.
